Hugo has told a local newspaper reporter that he will testify at his next trial. DA Lupas and First Assistant Jackie Carroll will be ready for the testimony. The question that remains is "when will the trial take place?". A scheduled trial date of January 22, 2007 is likely to be postponed.

Hugo has been accused of being involved in a home invasion that took place in Chestnuthill Twp. in Monroe county on January 27, 2003. Hugo and Paul Weakley have been charged with simple assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, robbery, theft by unlawful taking, terroristic threats, criminal attempt to commit burglary, and six counts of criminal conspiracy. A preliminary hearing initially scheduled for Sept. 1 has been rescheduled for Sept. 18 in Monroe county. So, Hugo's saga continues!

The Judge's recusal allows this case to proceed to trial. Lupas' stall tactic appears to have BACKFIRED! An attempt made by DA Lupas to postpone the trial has been foiled by Judge Peter Paul Olszewski. The mere thought (let alone the action) of filing the motion for recusal proves that Lupas is a coward. If Lupas has the courage and confidence to get a conviction in this case, he would be concerned about getting the case to trial as quickly as possible. Instead, Lupas is putting all his time and effort into "Judge shopping"?? Perhaps the focus should have been on who was PROSECUTING rather than presiding over the case!

The preliminary hearing for Hugo Selenski's case finally took place last week. All charges were held over for trial as decided by Magistrate Tupper. A trial date has yet to be set. Don't expect it to happen anytime soon!
