HUGO SELENSKI

 HUGO'S TRIAL MOVES ALONG
Back to Full Blog

The prosecution has given many witnesses the opportunity to "tell their story" thus far. Isn't it interesting how Paul Weakley and Pat Russin know much about the "bodies" that have been recovered? They knew where to find the "bodies, who they were, how they were killed, how long the remains were burned, and so on. Let's not forget that Paul and Pat had "free access" to the Mt. Olivet property. It is also known that both guys were jealous of Hugo for reasons that stem back long before June 5, 2003. (a perfect reason to frame Hugo as well as to obtain lesser sentences for their crimes)
Hugo has made some bad choices in the past but he has admitted to them. He would never put his family through this ordeal if he were GUILTY. Did Hugo have a trial for the bank robbery? I think not.
As far as preferred seating for the victims' family and not for Hugo's family, that is totally unfair. While the victims' family is allowed to have front row seating, Hugo's family is given seating in the last row. Why should Hugo's family be treated as though they are " guilty until proven innocent"? Everyone involved in this case is going through emotional turmoil but they should all be treated equally. Hugo remains to be innocent until proven guilty and should be treated as such. His family did nothing to ask for this treatment except to provide support for Hugo. The national and local media get better seats than Hugo's family. That will definitely change!
Hugo is a great guy and has a tremendous support team including immediate family, relatives, and close friends. Hugo and Atty Fannick will prevail in this case!

Ever since being selected to the jury panel and excused from duty, I have been very interested in this case. Prior to my jury duty, I didnt know very much about this case. I knew the name, knew he was accused of murder, knew he escaped from prison but that was about it. Since being excused, I have read about the case and cant believe all the twists and turns of the events and people involved.

By looking at Hugo, he looks like a normal upstanding individual. After reading the events leading to this case, I believe Hugo is very intelligent, however, if nothing else, has very bad judgment in picking his friends.

I will continue to follow the case closely. So far, based on the witnesses called, im not sure you can believe them. They all have something to gain from testifying. If I were a juror, that might weigh on my decision as to whether their testimony could be believed. For instance, put yourself in their shoes. If I testify, I get 1/2 the sentence I will get if I dont testify. DUHHHHH....the witnesses have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

I am interested in seeing how this case ends up. Im not convinced Hugo is completely innocent, however, Im not convinced hes guilty yet either.

I do, like you, find it interesting that Russin and Weakley do know exactly what happened the day of the murders.

Im bothered by the fact that so many bodies were found on Hugo's land. I have a feeling there are MANY MORE charges on the way.

I find Hugo to be very intelligent as well. I have told him many times about his choices in friends and if he is found not guilty that he should decided who is friends are more carefully.

I look at things 2 different ways. I really honestly dont know what happened those days since I wasnt there.

But if Pat Russin claims things happen the way they do, its just common sense that he's going to know where the bodies are. And if Paul Weakley and Pat Russin were instructed to burn the bodies, I would take that they obviously knew where the bodies would be, or what was left of them anyway.

Plus you have to remember that they were high on drugs and you dont think rationally that way.

I would like to think that he didnt do it and had no involvement whatsoever. I truely like Hugo and think he's nice.

Like I said before, I think he wasnt charged in the deaths of Michael Kerkowski or Tammy Fassette just because if he is found innocent of these charges, the DA will arrest him for those crimes just to hold him longer. I would hope he had nothing to do with their deaths either, considering they were good friends. But then again, when he went to Michael's father's house, he took a gun and fired a shot past him to collect money. I guess sometimes greed takes presidence..

Maybe its Karma.

Besides what I would have liked to think is this: he had nothing to do with what took place. That the other 2 guys hatched out this twisted plan and got it to go their way.

I do feel badly for everyone in this case. If Hugo gets out, he will always have a stigma attached to his name forever. Is that fair, no.

And I know that he plead guilty to the bank robbery, but the crime of murder, bears a lot more prison time and punishment than an armed robbery.

I cant sit here and say that the gruesome testimony of a person lying in a tarp with part of their head missing isnt disturbing. I cannot imagine being the mother or sister or any other relative and knowing that was the way your relative died. I mean the one guy was probably so scared. I cant imagine myself ever being in his position.

And while its great to believe in innocence until proven guilty, like everyone should do, as I do as well, I have to disagree with people and say that the trial is also about the victim's, not just the defendant. Their lives were taken away and they had no choice. Someone, held the fate of those lives in their hands that day, and they chose to end their lives. Who did it, is yet to be determined.

Shimmer -
How could you sit here and say you like Hugo and are friends with him and then say half the crap you are also saying in the same sentence? Some friend you are! That was Hugo's only fault, being friends with the WRONG people! You are so full of yourself. First of all, Hugo threatening Papa Kerkowski was ALLEGED! It was NOT proven, and if it was in fact true, then why did they drop those charges as well? You people are so wrapped up in the media that you actually have NO clue what to believe. He's my kin so I know better than any of you and Hugo may have been involved in something stupid, but he did NOT murder anyone!

hey are you Laura? I say things from looking at both sides. I am not full of myself, just objective.

I understand the way you feel and you want to defend him. And I dont consider myself to be a bad friend. Im not the one who is accusing or pointing the finger at him.

I actually changed many people's opinions about him and they now view him as innocent.

Okay...intelligent???? He barely had enough brains to get out of high school! The rest of the family isn't too bright either. I've heard that his mother and one of his sisters, don't know which one, tried to wash the exploding ink pack die off the money he robbed from the bank. Sad, really.

Listen you do not have that many dead bodies and not know what is goin on. I understand that you say he is your brother and he could never do this, but are you that naive that you wouldn't see someone burying someone in your yard or burning them. I guess not, because he was set up - yeah right! He may have got off on this one, but there is another trial to come. He will never get out of prison. He will rot there, no matter want you think, that is where he belongs!
