HUGO SELENSKI

 HUGO'S HEARING POSTPONED
Back to Full Blog

The preliminary hearing scheduled for today has been postponed until April 13 due to lack of counsel for Hugo. Does anyone want to represent HUGO? Any lawyers out there willing to become as well known as Demetrius Fannick? A few years work is a small price to pay to become "rich and famous" !
Poor Hugo. Everything is a waiting game for him. By the time he gets an attorney and a judge gets the case, it should be time for Hugo's sentencing date. Once an attorney is obtained, a change of venue will most likely be requested. That should take us into the middle of winter. The next trial for Hugo will probably begin some time next year. More waiting for Hugo.

I wonder what Hugo thinks of not being represented by Attorney Fannick. As of last weekend, Hugo was under the impression that Attorney Fannick would be his lawyer.

Perhaps Attorney Fannick wants more money or maybe there are alternate motives why he doesnt want to take this case.

Any thoughts?

It's pretty sad because even though Attorney Fannick did an excellent job defending Hugo, I still think he is being outrageously selfish in his new asking amount for this case. No matter how you look at it, it's Hugo that made a name for Fannick, and now Fannick is being greedy. There are plenty other lawyers that are willing to take this new case, so if Fannick doesn't want it then it's his loss NOT Hugo's. I guess it is true that all lawyers are nothing more than blood sucking leeches looking to suck everyone's money out of them at all costs. What a sad society to think that these lawyers expect people to incur such extreme debt and even sell their homes just to pay the lawyers highly demanding salaries. Just get another lawyer Hugo - make Fannick PANIC. After seeing what the first case did for Fannick, they'll take the case in hopes of making a name for themselves as well.

Well I think Attorney Fannick was a good lawyer whether Hugo was his client or not. Yes, by being Hugo's lawyer and winning the past case, brought him a kind of better known status, but Hugo's case didn't really make his career so to speak.

I think that given the opportunity, most people in his (Fannick) situation, would do the exact same thing. He probably looked at Hugo as a client and not a friend. So with that, he has no person stake in the case. I know he is your cousin, but if you were able to get $20,000 vs. $250,000, what would you take? Think outside of the case involving your cousin. Think of like Pat Russin or Henry Stubbs. Would you take $20,000 to defend them, or take $250,000 to defend them? I know what I would take.
